Ryan Trained at Urdang Academy and graduated with National Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre.
He was the Composer and Musical Director of ‘Nursery Crimes’ The Musical which ran at the Kings Head Theatre in 2009, Co-Written with his long term writing partner and lyricist Lauren Hendricks. ‘Nursery Crimes’ then went onto make the semi-finals of the West End Producer ‘Search for a Twitter Composer’ Competition in 2013. Carey-Hills and Hendricks were also commissioned to write original music for a season of new works at the New Players Theatre (Charing Cross) in 2009.
He has been a vocal coach and Musical Director for Thomson Gold Entertainment and has accompanied and sang at many charity / Gala performances at venues such as the Apollo Theatre and The Royal Albert Hall. He recently performed in ‘Things We’re Learning Now’ a concert of new British musical theatre by composers Amies and Clements. Ryan is passionate about new and lesser known Musical Theatre writing and has been involved in workshops and performances in London and on tour around the UK. As a musician and composer, he also works alongside up and coming Soul artist JoCee and has performed at the renowned Ronnie Scott’s , The Jazz Cafe in Camden and Brasserie Zedel as well as Live performances on BBC radio London.
Ryan has choreographed hair shows for Toni & Guy in Cambridge / London ExCel and various musicals for vocational performing arts colleges.
Ryan has over 6 years’ experience in training students at Pre-Vocational level and delivering qualifications and examinations, and is also a qualified aerobics instructor and qualified assessor in ETM (exercise to music).
